The Machinery Exchange located on 136 Baxter Street is a large red-brick building constructed back in 1915. In 1927, it was used as a warehouse for used manufacturing equipment which is why this building became known as The Machinery Exchange. It was announced in 2007 by Max Protech and Andreas Veith that this building would be converted into a residential condominium with only 14 residential units. Each of the apartments feature 13 ft high ceilings with exposed brick walls and the kitchen appliances will feature Subzero refrigerators and Miele ranges and ovens. The Machinery Exchange is distinguished by its faded paint.
